Travel agencies – a slight drop in prices for the summer
Last week, the prices of August trips in travel agencies in Poland fell for the first time in several weeks – by PLN 31. However, the average price of a trip only in Malta is lower than last year.
The price analysis of tourist events prepared by the TravelDATA Tourism Market Research Institute, which collects data from the organized outbound tourism market, covers the first week of August, i.e. 1 & # 8211; August 7, 2022.
Last week, the average price for trips with departures between August 1 and 7, 2022, fell by PLN 31. The prices of trips to Malta fell the most – by an average of PLN 284, and the decline in prices on the islands of the Turkish Riviera and Lanzarote was much smaller – by PLN 113 and PLN 111. The largest increases in average prices last week were recorded in Fuerteventura – by PLN 110, and on a slightly smaller scale in Portugal and Majorca – by an average of PLN 66 and PLN 62.
Last week, the prices of Polish leisure trips for departures on August 1-7, 2022 dropped in all major tourist destinations except the Canary Islands, where a cosmetic increase in average prices by PLN 1 was recorded. The smallest drop in tour prices was recorded in Bulgaria – by PLN 14, and clearly more significant and in a very similar amount in Egypt, Greece, Turkey – by respectively 52, 53 and 53 PLN.
The average price is still much higher than last year's
The study of the average price of events against the prices of the previous year for departures in the first week of August 2022 showed that the average price was higher than the average price for the previous season by PLN 499. Once again, the prices of trips to Sinai increased the most during the year – by an average of PLN 880, and the price increases in Hurghada and Tenerife were slightly lower – by PLN 831 and 791.
Last year, prices fell only on an annual basis in Malta – by an average of PLN 69.
Egypt much more expensive
Among the leading destinations, the largest annual increases in travel prices were again in Egypt – by an average of PLN 805 and in the Canary Islands – by PLN 526, and smaller ones were in Turkey, Greece and Bulgaria – by PLN 440, 407 and PLN 395.
Only Malta is cheaper than in 2021
In less frequented destinations, the highest price increases in annual terms were recorded in Albania and Morocco – by PLN 769 and PLN 678. Smaller and similar increases were recorded in Majorca, Cyprus, mainland Spain and Italy – by an average of PLN 581, 579, 550, 546 PLN. Prices in Portugal increased on a smaller scale – by PLN 447, and even less in Tunisia – by an average of PLN 277. The only direction where a drop in travel prices was recorded was Malta, and it amounted to PLN 69.
TUI is still the leader of cheap trips
In what is more important for tourists, i.e. in the number of the most attractive levels of current trip prices, i.e. in the first or second place in 30 summer destinations in three hotel categories, in the 17th comparison for the peak of the 2022 summer season, the leader is similar as in most of the previous season, there was a TUI Poland office with 51 offers (previously 53 offers, 46 offers the year before, and 47 offers two years ago). This organizer was ahead of Itaka offices with the number of 31 offers (previously 33 offers, before 24, and two years ago 21 offers) and Rainbow with 25 offers (previously 26 offers, 32 offers and 12 offers two years ago).
Egypt is the cheapest in TUI and Exim
The most affordable offers in Egyptian destinations were offered by TUI Poland and Exim Tours – 7 and 4 offers, in Greek destinations the TUI Poland office was the leader – 9 offers in front of Itaka, Rainbow and Exim Tours – 6 and 5 offers each. TUI Poland offices had the most attractive offers in Canary Islands – 12 offers, Itaka and Rainbow – 6 and 4 offers, and Turkish Coral Travel offices – 9 offers and TUI Poland – 4 offers. In Tunisia, TUI Poland offices had the most attractive offers – 6 offers, Coral Travel and Exim Tours – 3 and 2 offers, and in Bulgaria, TUI Poland and Exim Tours – 3 and 2 offers.
