Katarzyna Nowicka, spokesman for Chopin Airport, said: “The number of passengers served at Chopin Airport from the beginning of the year is higher than our forecasts indicated. Of course, we are still struggling with various types of restrictions, we look anxiously at the situation in Ukraine and the influence of war on the aviation industry. However, we hope that this year will prove to be more gracious for us than the previous ones and that good results from January and February herald that the worst time in the industry is already behind us.”
The vast majority of passengers – almost 70 percent. – traveled using the transport of traditional carriers. Traveling to Schengen countries was chosen by over 56.3 percent. people, of which almost half are flights within the European Union.
The most popular carrier operating at Chopin Airport is invariably LOT PLL, which has 52 percent. participation in transport.

London, Paris, Dubai and Kyiv are in the top five of the most frequently chosen timetable destinations in terms of the number of passengers.
When it comes to non-scheduled connections, popular holiday destinations such as Punta Cana, Hurghada, Cancun, Salalah and Fuerteventura were the most-chosen routes in February.
