Emirates – Two daily flights to Melbourne from May
Emirates has announced the launch of a second daily Dubai-Melbourne flight with its flagship A380 aircraft. From May 1, the carrier will offer customers 14 weekly connections from Dubai to Melbourne.
The additional flight between Dubai and Melbourne will increase Emirates' seat capacity to over 1,000 a day, for a total of 700,000 seats. places per year. Passengers can choose from 14 first class cabins, 76 business class reclining seats and 426 ergonomically designed economy class seats.
From May 1, the new Emirates flight will depart in Dubai, departing daily at 10:05 AM and will land in Melbourne at 5:30 AM the next day. From Melbourne, the flight will depart at 05:15, arriving in Dubai at 13:10. The additional flight will complement existing connections departing daily from Dubai at 02:40, arriving at 21:50 in Melbourne. From Melbourne, the flight departs at 9:15 PM and is scheduled to arrive in Dubai at 5:15 AM the next day (all times are local time).
Adding a second daytime A380 connection will offer customers even more convenience and flexibility with either morning or evening flight, ensuring optimal transfer options after stopping in Dubai.
Before the pandemic, international flights drew more than 3.1 million visitors to Victoria each year and provided the economy with $ 8.8 billion. Emirates carried 22% of the 1.3 million passengers that arrived in Victoria from key European countries such as Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland, bringing the Victorian economy $ 86 million in 2019.
